Small bathrooms where the door swings in, and DIYers who will follow every step and, ideally, bring a helper.

Anyone planning to skip steps or hang it alone in a hurry (ask me how I know!).
The project.
We did a soft remodel on the ensuite at the river house: new vanity, new backsplash, new paint. Didn't want to break the bank, so this was a DIY job. The old door opened into the bathroom, making a small room feel and function even smaller. Pull the door, hang a slider, get the space back.
The price.
If you've ever shopped for interior doors, you know why I was pleased with under $250 for the door and the hardware. The reviews sealed it.
Assembly.
It came in a smaller box than I expected, but it's heavy, so have a helper to keep from damaging anything (like that corner wall coming in from the game room!). Well packed, clear instructions, easy to follow. I assembled the door alone with basic tools in about 40 minutes. Faster with a helper, but my Questionable Kids were MIA.
Hanging it.
The mounting and slider hardware instructions are also clear, but you need to follow every step for a quality fit and long-lasting operation. Again, best as a two-person job, though I managed alone. A helper likely would have kept me from mis-measuring floor-to-roller on the first attempt. Tools I used: pencil, 2-ft level, cordless drill, stud finder ("wait, I thought you said Mrs. Questionable wasn't there to help?!").
The result.
Once I corrected the mount, the door hung beautifully and slides open and closed with ease. A quality addition to the space.

Passed. She now has a constant reminder of why she married me. Frosted, so a tasteful reminder.
