Novelty gifts, and people who thought "22lb coffee mug" and did not talk themselves out of it.
Who should skip
Anyone who expected the 22lb mug to replace a normal cup without a second hand or a gym membership.
I just couldn't help myself. I saw this on Facebook and thought, man, 22 lb! With as much coffee, wine, and whiskey I drink, I could get ripped in a week with that thing. Showed it to Mrs. Questionable, who was unimpressed, bought it anyway.
Shelled out $189.99 for the 22 lb Heavy* mug and, for good measure, added the 5 lb mug for another $78.99. They were on back-order at the time, but when they finally arrived, the mugs were as advertised: high-quality craftsmanship, great conversation pieces, and probably an amazingly memorable novelty gift.
I found the 22 lb mug to be less practical, primarily because the weight requires a second hand to comfortably lift it to my lips without spilling everywhere (probably need to hit the gym a little more), but the 5 lb mug is awesome and very usable as a daily drinker. If I could have my way, I'd like a 10 lb mug with a larger liquid capacity, but I don't make 'em, I just buy 'em.
If I were only reviewing the 5 lb mug, this would have been a three-star rating, but considering I shelled out $189 for the 22 lb mug, I've knocked it down to two stars. I could have saved this money.
